Celebrate Urban League's 70th Anniversary Luncheon Feb. 8

Jenell Walton
This September, the Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio turns 70 years strong! We're starting the celebration with our Annual Luncheon & Glorifying the Lions ceremony February 8, 2019, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel downtown. Join us as we take a nostalgic trip down memory lane and share some of the exciting things the League has planned to celebrate this huge milestone. We’ll also induct new members into our Legendary Lions Society where we salute extraordinary people who have demonstrated a commitment to serving the community.

We're also hosting a CEO Roundtable with some of the area's top CEOs and community leaders. Read more about the roundtable HERE.

We will also celebrate the 25th anniversary of our Glorifying the Lions Ceremony where we pay homage to those who are often the unsung heroes of the community. Their contributions make a positive impact in their respective communities and beyond. Honorees for the 2019 luncheon are:

The Greater Cincinnati Urban League was founded in 1948 as an independent social service agency dedicated to the enhancement of economic opportunities for African Americans in the Tri-State area.  Over the years, the Greater Cincinnati Urban League has focused its efforts on five initiatives; training and job placement, advocacy, health, youth development, and entrepreneurship. In 2013, the Greater Cincinnati Urban League established the Miami Valley Urban League in Dayton, Ohio. This new office led to the organization changing its name to the Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio (ULGSO).

Today, we’re a civil rights organization dedicated to economic empowerment. We train people for jobs, teach personal finance, work with start-ups and entrepreneurs and advocate for positive change in our communities.

Your reservation to the 70th Annual Luncheon & Glorifying the Lions Celebration will help us continue to do the work we do with job training, after-school mentoring, advocacy and assisting entrepreneurs to start and grow their business.
