Black Business Month 2022 Concludes

With the start of Black Business Month coinciding with the return to school shopping earlier this month, ULGSO promoted Buy-Black-to-School to encourage patronage of African American retail merchants as a 2-for, doubling the incentive to spend and circulate dollars within the Black community’s financial ecosystem.

As we approach the end of Black Business Month 2022, ULGSO is redirecting its emphasis from promoting retail spending to supporting African American professional services. Space considerations have limited our ability to present an exhaustive listing, so we've identified professional resources most routinely sought by consumers.

Don’t allow Black Business Month to become a meaningless annual August slogan. There is wisdom in its premise to Buy Black. An October 2020 study by Florida A&M University concluded: “the average lifespan of the dollar is approximately 28 days in Asian communities, 19 days in Jewish communities, 17 days in white communities — and just six hours in Black communities.”
